It is a pleasure to acknowledge the recent UCS offer for membership. I am
deeply enamored of the so many good things that the UCS does and requires
of informed citizens and our politicians/parties but I cannot abide by what 
I have come to understand as its ecologically disastrous and technically 
misinformed statements on commercial nuclear power/power cycle as well 
as what I feel is its retrograde and disingenuous public stance on the 
matter. Integrity indeed!

  I am not nor ever have been employed or benefitted in any direct way from
the commercial nuclear power industry and make this statement as a person
who has researched the technical and historical side of the process, and who
has some understanding of associated health physics issues and quantitative
risk assessment.

  I respectfully will therefore not be joining the UCS at this time. Yours,
